SENIOR FOLLIES Paid my twelve dollars Went to a show It washed away all My troubles and woes Seasoned citizens With talent galore Left me leaving, Wanting more. They "WERE HERE TO ENTERTAIN" That's what they did Walked out feeling Like a kid. I rode on the "SURREY WITH THE FRINGE ON TOP" Went "UP THE LAZY RIVER" As the Maumees soft shoe sweeties Went hop, hop, hop. "A WONDERFUL GUY" Such beautiful singing Then the sun setters Came out "SWINGING". It was "SOME ENCHANTED EVENING" Then a "MEDLEY" of song When "HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY THAT I LOVE YOU" Came along The audience felt "YOUNGER THAN SPRINGTIME" You must realize If not, "YOU'D BE SURPRISED" Then it was time for cookies Water and coffee to drink Act two came back As quick as a wink. Everybody got a chance to strut, That is always fair By everybody ... That is Including the mayor. The surf came up "DOWN BY THE SEA" Where Easter Williams was put to shame Don't you agree? The "SENTIMENTAL JOURNEYS" Got a chance to blossom Singing about the "ROOSTER" And the "POSSUM" Part of his body it seems Was bronzed It wasn't his toe If you don't know Just ask Shlomoh A lot of beautiful ladies Danced across the stage Most of them were Quite the rage If you missed "BEETHOVEN 5th" Or,"TCHAIKOUSKYS" overture Then you didn't see "THE DIVA CHICKS" that´s for sure. We all learned a lesson On MAMA'S ADVICE" Put on clean underwear Don't wear them twice. Remember next year, if you're Shy Like the can, can girl Put it aside, and Give it a whirl. There is "NOTHING LIKE A DAME" Or a "GIRL WHO CAN'T SAY NO" But next year, make sure you go to The Senior Follies show. Maumee, Ohio September 29, 2008 Dear Paula The Oregon Second Senior Follies was a BIG Success. And as a member of the Maumee Senior Center Soft Shoe Dance group, I want to thank you and your committee for allowing us to participate. We truly enjoyed crossing the River again to dance in your fun show. Laughing is good for everyone.. .and we got our share of joy. From the antics of the MC Bob Marquette; George Hazel with Theresa Berry and Nancy Raufer; and of course the men´s Synchronized Swimming; to the Chickens ... what a Hoot! We all commented on the friendliness of your members. Compared to our visits to some other centers ... Oregon rates the Top! Thanks again Paula for the reception @ your Lake Front Property.
