We sat on the beach
At Euclid.
And watched the waters of Erie.
You collected stones
And I collected memories
Of a summer past
Filled with joy,
Of a romance passed
Filled with wonder.
I tried to capture
The moment
On film.
But nothing developed.
I tried to capture
The moment
On my mind.
But it eluded me.
I watched you
In all your beauty.
The waters of the Lake
Kissed the Euclid beach.
And oh!
How I longed to kiss you!
And oh!
How I long to hold you.
