Valley Of Tears
By Shlomoh

I too a wanderer
In the valley of sorrow
Where days are dark,
Obscured from the sun.

I walked in pain and tears,
Despairing of finding light and love,
Shadows cast about me
By devils.

My youth slipped away,
My passions cooled,
My heart hardened,
My eyes cast down.

With downcast eyes
I could not see
That heaven's gate
Was opening
And you about to descend,
A loving angel
Just for me.

But when I cast my eyes upward
I saw light,
I saw heights
That I could ascend to
And love a possibility once more,
And this time true.

Spirit of light,
My heart softened
For you,
because of you.

You in my arms
And in my heart
Always ...
Sorrow has departed
And I emerge from the vale,
A man!
