GOD SPOKE

By George Martin

God spoke to us when He exploded a star
O'er Bethlehem that morn,
When shepherds and wise men came from afar
To see the Christ Child born.

Again He spoke with a myriad of tongues
When He set His hand to the stars
And gave us a ladder with millions of rungs
To scale His light bedazzled bars.

And then with a hand made gentle by love,
He builded His creature a bower,
And gave him the light from His heavens above,
And His voice from the heart of a flower.

George W. Martin

Dedicated to Sister Mary T. Donze
For knowing how to listen to the Voices of God.
