SISTER OF MY TRIBE

I come to you from afar,
A stranger, entering into your life.
I approach you hesitantly -
To see if we are the blend
Of hearts that we both desire.
Strange but familiar are you.
And that familiarity is of family.
For are we not of one seed?
Oh sister of my tribe,
I welcome you into my life,
Now in its evening,
Hoping we may find renewed morning together.
You speak to me in familiar language,
The speech of our family,
And thereby bring out much warmth and affection in me
For you!
May G-d make you like Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah,
A woman of valor!
Sweet daughter of Israel,
Come into my arms!
Come into my heart!
