JULY, 1993

Julius came and saw and conquered.
So was this month named for him.
For he was Caesar of all Rome
And the world adored him.
He came and saw and conquered.
You came and saw and conquered my heart
When first we loved one another
As man and woman.
Do you remember the first sighs?
Do you remember the first sweet words of passion?
I loved you then.
Now do I love you still.
This summer has brought heat that is without
And warmth that is within.
You take me to your place of trees and flowers,
And I am captivated by you.
Oh my lover, has any man been loved so sweetly
As you do love me?
Now come and see and conquer me
Again and again.
