PANIC ROOM

Divorcee Meg Altman and her daughter Sarah find a dream town house on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Included in this wonderful home is a so-called "safe room" known as the Panic Room, a supposed steel enclosed Fortress within the house that will protect its inhabitants in the event that it is invaded by criminal intruders.

Guess what? The first night that mother and daughter move into the house, it IS indeed invaded by 3 evil types in search of a money treasure buried, unknown to the Altman mother and daughter, guess where? Right under the floor of the Panic Room.

As the intruders head up the stairs, Mrs Altman spots them on the house monitors, quickly sprints out of bed, gathers up Sarah, and they both head to the Panic Room, the heavy steel door sliding shut in the faces of the would be robbers. What follows is an incredible 101 minutes of sheer nerve racking excitement as the robbers attempt to break into the Panic Room, almost completely destroying the rest of the house in their determination to penetrate the Room.

Mother and daughter discover that since they did not bother to hook up the Panic Room's telephone, and therefore cannot call the police, they must rely on their wits to get out of the Room and get help.

The suspense builds higher and higher to a final crescendo that will have you on the edge of your seat. This is truly one of the really great films of the genre to come along since the great days of Hitchcock.

Jody Foster looks beautiful and sexy as usual. Kristen Stewart gives a remarkably good performance as Sarah Altman. Forest Whitaker wonderfully plays one of the baddies. I ALWAYS love watching him act.

This is a must see for all devotees of suspensefull action films.
