Sharknados, an exercise in super-great stupidities!

Storyline for Sharknado I:
When a freak hurricane swamps Los Angeles, nature's deadliest killer rules sea, land, and air as thousands of sharks terrorize the waterlogged populace.

Storyline for Sharknado II:
A freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished, iconic sites - and only Fin and April can save the Big Apple.

The scripts for these two zaney flicks had to be written when the writers were eithr high on drugs or thinking how to insult the audiences intelligence while making us laugh our asses off. Suzanne and I watched them both on the Sci-Fi channel this week and we barely are left with behinds at all.

After carefull thought, I can only compare them to ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, also made to horrify and amuse the audiences at the same time.

Of course, the theme of both movies is that a savage storm strikes both cities, picking up sharks in its wake and throwing them down on the helpless citizens. No turtles or fish, dolphins or whales. Just sharks.

The sheer ridiculousness of the films causes you, as you watch, to anticipate with glee, the next improbable sequence of sharks raining down on two of our major cities while the heroes battle them with guts, glory, guns, and saws.

At least in California, they have access to guns and chain saws. But in the Big Apple, they are told that guns are outlawed in New York and since people live in apartments rather than in houses, they have no need of chain saws. But wait! That's ok. The mayor manages to get guns and saws from New Jersey.

If you want to spend 3 hours, bugged-eyed and breathless, watch the Sci-Fi channel for these two oscar winners. I'd like to say they Jumped the Shark but I'll refrain. I'll just think it.

Regarding Sharknado I, flixspix (United States) in his review, GLORIOUSLY INCOMPETENT AND GLEEFULLY TERRIBLE [See all his reviews at http://www.imdb.com/user/ur1037131/comments?ref_=tt_urv], after panning it horribly, notes: "You can't stop watching. My friends, yelled, laughed, joked, stomped, laughed some more and had a fine time. Now how many times can you say that watching a movie? It literally becomes an interactive experience. It is surely a classic. Not sure exactly what kind. But it is a classic."

Regarding Sharknado II, wes-connors (Earth) in his review, WHEN SHARKS FLY [See all his reviews at http://www.imdb.com/user/ur15896852/comments], after slamming it, says, "Director Anthony C. Ferrante and writer Thunder Levin seem to be saying, 'We know you're laughing at us, we're laughing with you.' The shark attacks are hilarious and they wouldn't be funny with fantastic special effects and great acting."

You're almost in Beverly Hills. And there is no way the ocean has washed inland that far.
Baz Hogan: What makes you an expert on Beverly Hills, George?
George: That's where I live.
Fin Shepard: George, if you live in Beverly Hills, why do you come all the way to the coast and drink at my bar?
George: I don't know. I like the view, you know. There's the beach. There's all these scantily clad women there
that pretend to like.
