The Unrepentant Weakling

One whom I loved
Stumbles through her life,
Graceless.
The depth of her
Articulateness
Belies
The Shallowness she hides
From Men
Whom
She claims to Love.
Her gift
To those she snares
With Words
Is Abiding Contempt
And cruel Unforgiveness
For Sins
Not Committed.
She accuses
And brings to Condemnation
Without Trial
Her hapless Lovers.
Then
When they rebel
And show her
Her True Face
She recoils
In Anger.
And the Ultimate Sin
Of her inherent Weakness -
She is kind to the Cruel
And cruel to the Kind
Whom she relegates
To Nothingness,
By her lack of Grace,
By her lack of Empathy,
By her unbridled Arrogance
In the Face
Of Men
Who might give her
Their Heart.
